10 must-see men's college basketball games for Colorado teams this season

The Denver Post — Matt Schubert The Denver Post

Nov. 08-- Nov. 8--10. CU vs. Arizona State at Shanghai

8:30 p.m. Friday

More than a billion people live in China. Could this be the seed that eventually grows into a 6-7 Chinese wing who can't get enough of Buffs basketball? The odds are decent enough.

9. Air Force at Army

5 p.m. Nov. 12

The Zoomies already took one from their service academy on the gridiron. Next up: A date on the hardwood at West Point. The Black Knights have won five in a row in this series.

8. CU vs. Wyoming in Las Vegas

6 p.m. Nov. 24

It's been five years since these two met on a basketball court. Now they have to go all the way to Sin City to renew what was once an annual rivalry in the MGM Resorts Main Event. TCU and Clemson await on the other side of the bracket.

7. DU at Northern Colorado

7 p.m. Dec. 17

The Pioneers were frisky in a season-opening loss at Colorado State on Tuesday night. Can they break a two-game losing streak to the Bears, who are coming off a 21-11 season?

6. CU vs. Dayton in Chicago

5:30 p.m. Dec. 21

The second of three neutral arena games for the Buffs, taking on the Flyers at the United Center provides CU one final opportunity to make some non-conference noise.

5. Wyoming at CSU

11 a.m. Jan. 4

The Border War rarely disappoints, even with two teams coming off sub-par Mountain West Conference showings. The two rivals have split the season series each of the past two years.

4. Oregon at CU

7 p.m. Jan. 2

The Buffs' Pac-12 opener could be a tone-setter for a CU team eyeing a conference title. The teams finished 1-2 in the conference's preseason poll, with the Ducks taking the top spot.

3. CU at CSU

6 p.m. Dec. 13

Tad Boyle's Buffs have had their struggles against the Rams, including losses in two of the teams' last three meetings. A 2-2 record in Fort Collins means this is no gimme for CU.

2. CSU at Duke

5 p.m. Friday

Was Rams coach Niko Medved crazy to schedule this one at Cameron Indoor Stadium? If CSU can somehow come out of there with a resume-building win, crazy like a fox.

1. CU at Kansas

5 p.m. Dec. 7

A rematch of old Big 12 rivals at Phog Allen Fieldhouse? Sign us up. If the Buffs can somehow pull off the upset, their at-large NCAA Tournament prospects get a serious boost.
