Arby's Sorry About Sign Barring Unruly KidsNewser — Arden Dier
Arby's is apologizing after a Minnesota location posted a sign saying that only "well behaved children who can keep their food on their trays and their bottoms on their seats" were welcome.
"If you can't do this, you will be asked to leave." Christine Hemsworth says she hesitated at the door of the Elk River restaurant last Wednesday because she was with her 2-year-old son, who can be a bit messy and "sometimes stands up." They ultimately ordered and ate without reproach from management, but it was "uncomfortable and stressful," Hemsworth tells KARE11.
The mother of five posted about the experience on Facebook, and while some commenters sided with the restaurant—saying diners with children need to "be respectful of others"—Arby's apologized in a statement.
"We recognize the language on this sign was insensitive," it reads. "We removed it quickly, and have disciplined the manager and team working at the restaurant." Hemsworth says she's still waiting on a personal reply, per Today.
