Cole Swindell, Chris Young, Old Dominion to Anchor 2019 Windy City SmokeoutRolling Stone — Stephen L. Betts
Windy City Smokeout, the Chicago outdoor festival combining country music, barbecue and craft beer, has announced its 2019 lineup. Set for the weekend of July 12th through 14th, Old Dominion, Chris Young and Cole Swindell will headline the three-day fest, with artists like Lanco, Ashley McBryde, Eli Young Band, Jordan Davis, Jessie James Decker, Jimmie Allen and more on the undercard. See the full list of performers below.
Now in its seventh year, the Smokeout will move to a new location, just outside of Chicago’s historic United Center in the city’s West Loop Neighborhood. Several popular barbecue joints from around the country, including Chicago’s Bub City, Nashville’s Martin’s Bar-B-Que and Peg Leg Porker, and Driftwood, Texas, outpost the Salt Lick, will be on hand to serve festival-goers throughout the weekend.
Organizers of the event note that expansion to the United Center parking lot offers added perks for guests, including more available seating, lounge areas, expanded bars and extended hours. This year’s event marks the first outdoor festival to take place on the United Center grounds. As an indication of its growth, in 2018 Brett Eldredge set a one-day attendance record for the festival, drawing a crowd of more than 18,000 fans.
