Pandemic: Infections Are Running Rampant, But…

As lockdown restrictions ease across the US, cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 are skyrocketing. However, CNN reports the surge in cases hasn't been accompanied by a surge in deaths. Why? Also, more young people could be infected this time around and they have a much lower risk of death. It's also possible the current patients may have fewer comorbid conditions than those in March and April. Finally, doctors do know a lot more now about how to treat the illness, and testing is more widely available. But one thing's for sure: the virus has not weakened by one iota. Stay safe!
